Karl-Christian Agerup is replacing Ole Jacob Sunde, who has decided to retire.

Agerup has had a long tenure on the Schibsted Board, starting as deputy representative for owner Tinius Nagell-Erichsen in 2003. He then served as Board Member until 2013 and again from 2020, and has accordingly been a significant contributor to Schibsted’s two-decade journey of growth and value creation.

During this period, Schibsted has created the world’s largest online classifieds group in Adevinta, pioneered the transition from print to digital news media, multiplied its market capitalization several times, and grown an international reach of 1 billion consumers every month.

Karl-Christian Agerup states:

“I am proud and humbled for being asked to carry forward Schibsted’s legacy as Board Chair. Schibsted and Schibsted’s products reach more than 8 million people every day, and our brands are making a difference in securing transparency and helping all our users make informed decisions. I am optimistic about Schibsted’s prospects for strengthening our presence in our markets by being innovative and utilising our strengths across all our markets and brands. Schibsted is one of the most important companies in the Nordics, and I welcome the opportunity to serve all of Schibsted’s stakeholders.”

Kristin Skogen Lund, CEO of Schibsted, states:

“Karl-Christian has been a highly valued member of the Schibsted Board through several of our most defining periods as a company. I am very confident in his ability to help protect and grow both our results and our relevance. I look forward to working with him and the new Board.”

Karl-Christian Agerup also serves as an alternate member on the Board of the Tinius Trust, owner of Blommenholm Industrier AS.

The Schibsted Annual General Meeting also elected Rune Bjerke as Deputy Chair and new board members Satu Kiiskinen and Hélène Barnekow.
